Checkpoint Endpoint Security E75.01 for Mountin Lion Problems

Checkpoint Endpoint Connect E75.01 is the only native client for 10.8 as it is 64bit. And it still seems to have a major bugs.

After certain days it will show a message: “Connectivity with the VPN service is lost”

The logs will contain something similar to:

21.06.12 09:48:11,981 com.apple.launchd: (com.checkpoint.epc.service) Throttling respawn: Will start in 9 seconds
21.06.12 09:48:21,465 com.apple.launchd: (com.checkpoint.epc.service[653]) Exited with code: 1
21.06.12 09:48:21,465 com.apple.launchd: (com.checkpoint.epc.service) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds

The problem is, somehow the file Trac.config is getting truncated. As a small workaround for now I did create an Apple Script which copies a backup file back.

    Hi,
    did you get any help from Checkpoint? We are here getting the same occasional error as you. Problem here is that normal users do not have admin rights to copy back the backup-file…

      Hi Michael,

      a ticket was created for months, but nothing happened since then.
      That and the DNS/resolv.conf issue is the only thing which prevents me from upgrading our 30 clients to Mountain Lion.

      Too bad.

        Today, I contacted our Checkpoint-Support Partner to open a call at Checkpoint with Logfiles/Crashdumps and all the infos we could gather from one of the machines….

          Today, I just got a response from Checkpoint. I got a new package with build 835017071 and replaced the original E75.01 build 835017055.
          Lets see how this behaves.
